On Sunday 22nd September the popular annual Southern Counties Show returns to Farming World, Faversham, Kent. With 6 rings and over 60 classes there is something for everyone in the programme – dressage, ridden/in-hand showing (with equifest qualifiers), show jumping and a fun dog show.
As always the show includes the prestigious Hickstead Horse Feeds South East Championships in dressage, showing and show jumping (qualifiers have been held at all Colette’s Shows, SMP Events, Faversham riding club, Moat View club shows plus many others across Kent, Surrey, Essex and Sussex). There are also numerous classes that can be entered on the day and are open to everyone with a separate championship after each section of showing classes (veterans, lead rein, m+m ect). This year for the first time the hickstead horse feeds mountain + moorland pony of the year supreme championship will be split into ridden and in-hand plus working hunter classes have been added for the first time by request.
The show ground boasts in excess of 20 acres of completely flat, mown and well managed land with immediate access off of the A2 / M2. It enables the organisers (colette’s horse shows) to have very large arenas and plenty of parking and warm-up areas. There is also a small shopping village at the event.
This year the shows main sponsors are Animal House Vets, Barretts Landrover, Jacksons Fine Fencing and Equus Properties.
